Lent Day Two, Intermittent FASTING & Standing Up to #CancelCulture!!!!

It works best for me have a mission behind what I am doing. This mission is multi-tasking for health and spiritual reasons. Day Two of Lent is used honor my Catholic Ancestors and the first amendment which gives us Freedom of Religious Choice. The English Reformation demanded that it's citizens only belong to the Church of England write a pledge declaring King Henry the Eight as defender of the new faith. Ironically this was promoted because he wanted to ditch his first wife in favor of the second wife that he eventually also ditched in the worse possible way.

Politics and Religion can be a disastrous combination. My Catholic ancestors sailed to the American Colonies to away from that nonsense.

The Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom was drafted in 77 by Thomas Jefferson in the city of Fredericksburg, Virginia. On January , 86, the Assembly enacted the statute into the state's law. The statute disestablished the Church of England in Virginia and guaranteed freedom of religion to people of all religious faiths, including Christians of all denominations, Jews, Muslims, and Hindus. The statute was a notable precursor of the Establishment Clause and Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.

I made a Mexican Omelet with Grits to honor Goya Foods for standing up to the #CancelCulture mindset. The GOYA CEO met with President Trump along with several other Latino owned company to talk about empowering the Latino Community.

The #HateTrump crowd demanded that folks boycott GOYA Food products. That backfired on them. Goya Food sales increased significantly.

I never consider a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend.

How do you like your grits? Joe eats his like a vegetable, just a little butter. I like it more as a cereal, with butter, sugar, and milk.

Dec 09, 2020 · Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) responded to Goya Foods President and CEO Bob Unanue naming her "Employee of the Month" following a boom in sales over the summer after Ocasio-Cortez suggested a boycott of Goya Foods.

I like grits either savory or sweet depending on my mood at the time.

Jan.27, 2021.....— Goya’s board of directors had enough of CEO Robert Unanue’s public comments in support of former President Donald Trump and his unfounded claims of voter fraud. On Friday, it voted to muzzle him.

The board of the privately held Latino food company voted to censure Unanue, following his most recent controversial remarks that questioned the legitimacy of the November election.

Unanue will no longer be allowed to speak to the media without the board’s permission. The decision was first reported by the New York Post Monday evening.

The source said this is a “full stop” on Unanue speaking to the press, not only about politics, but also about the company itself.

A majority of Goya shareholders favor removing Unanue altogether but have been prevented from doing so by the dynamics of the family-controlled company, according to the source.

“The company has never been political or politicized,” said the source. “He’s gone from bad CEO to CEO that has imperiled the future of the company and endangered the lives of some of the shareholders,” the source said in reference to some Unanue family members having allegedly received threats because of the CEO’s comments.

I am not a fan of grits. We didn't grow up with them and you could never buy them here. The only thing close to grits was cornmeal mush which my mother used to make. I sometimes cornmeal for breakfast. We also had fried cornmeal mush. Mom would pour the mush into a pan and cool it. She would slice it and fried it. We probably had that instead of potatoes or other starch.

Same here. We didn't have grits, we had mush and it was a cereal for us, but more usually it was chilled and fried. Mmmmm, with a little butter and syrup. Even some of the restaurants serve fried mush.
Personally, I don't see much difference between the two, but don't tell that to a Southerner. LOL.

The original liberal cry for BOYCOTT!!!!! happened when the CEO simply attended a meeting along with other Latino business owners with President Trump. He had also attended a similar meeting with President Obama.

When the "Hate Trump" crowd started screeching for Boycott, the Conservatives reacted by stocking up on Goya Items. They are doing the same with Mr. Pillow products. Nevertheless, most business owners know that it is prudent to stay out of politics although they might have thier personal views. They have to do business with customers from all sides.

I am not in favor of #CancelCulture for any reason. I don't let differing political or religious views determine who I do business with. I still purchase Penzey Spices even though they have liberal inclinations.
