Covid19Challenge,NewFriends&BlessingsInTheMail

It would be so easy have a pity pot party but there are so many who have it much worse than thus I have be grateful. I am used being able find part-time temporary work make ends meet and fund travelling adventures.

I try travel someplace that I've never been at least once a year along with a trip Washington DC. This year, I am doing something, I've never done. I am staying put. I don't want to be anywhere NEAR Washington D.C. at this time.

There was no selling tickets at the State Fair or running around like an scary hag at the Haunted Farm this year. My financial realities will suck swampwater this year, but so will a lot of other folks.

So though a chain of events, I became the essential volunteer at the local GOP headquarters. I made a lot of new and interesting friends. I have remember that my Higher Power is my ultimate provider. I don't always get everything I want but I get everything I need.

I was invited lunch by two of the Church Ladies that also volunteered at the GOP Headquarters. I checked my mail before driving over the diner. This was mail that has been sitting in my car unopened for a month. I found a card for $75. worth of groceries. The Church Ladies gifted with a basket that included an Amazon card. I have a friend that is going through horrific pain and grief. There is nothing I can do except pray but she once told that praying is a lot. I used that card to her a prayer plant. She is a strong Christian woman and I am sure that she will feel that prayers that the Church ladies and I are sending her.

My car needs new brakes, I called the dealer and got a $600. quote. Gadzooks! I asked for recommendations for someone other than the dealer. I had a lunch date with the Pastor's Wife. I told her that I planned to get the oil changed, find out exactly what needs to be done and get a quote from the local car repair shop. She offered to help finance the repairs. I am grateful but my Step training teaching me be self supporting through my own contributions and I don't want take advantage of a friend. Even if the car sat for a month, I could deal with it. The quote was for $110. THAT I can handle.

I was also concerned with how I was going for the Christmas Dinner for the local GOP Club. Normally, if I can't afford something, I don't go but I am being installed as an officer at this event. I HAVE be there. Soooooo I checked the mail this morning and guess what I found in the mail.

A friend gave me some Turmeric roots at our book club. I planted it and it became a plant.

Interesting. Give and it shall be given back to you, shook down, full measure, running over..... may your cup over flow. And I mean your blessings cup, not your bra cup!
I remember one (of many) times when we had a need, and it was met in an unexpected way. The one that came to mind was a time we were returning home in the pouring down rain and as the kids got out of the car, one of my sons went running back up the road. I called to him, but he yelled that he would be right back, so we all hurried into the house. He came in a few minutes later, soaking wet and dropped a wad of money (close to $100) into my lap. How in the world did that money come to be laying on the side of our country road? And even more amazing was that my son spotted it from a moving car, in the pouring down rain!

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

There have been so many of these "so called coincidences" in my life throughout the years that sometimes when things seem to be going wrong, it doesn't even phase me anymore. It is absolute proof of the existence of a Higher Power.
