Pandemics & Protesting West Virginia Style Yesterday, I had a choice between a 12 Step Meeting or a Protest. I was advised that Trump supporters would not be welcome at the protest nor in the any of the local businesses. Dang! Tell me that I can't do something. Consider it done. I made a sign and headed to the protest. I tend to stay on the outskirts of crowd even when there is not a pandemic. Most folks were wearing masks but there absolutely no social distancing. There were no pallets of bricks left by Antifa . Cops were there but no riot gear. One of the speakers started off about Trump and I thought, "Okay, I'm outta here. I ran into a conservative friend who is a business owner. They were waiting outside with guns in case of trouble. "Okay, I am hanging out with you guys for awhile!" I got all kinds of compliments on my sign. One gentleman said it was the best sign that he'd seen so far. I finally left and made it to the 12 Step Meeting. I have been doing meetings on Zoom but it doesn't compare to seeing my friends. I hugged two of the guys. Luckily the police were too busy monitoring the protest to arrest me for those ill gotten hugs. |

I was almost tempted to leave that sign at the shop where the owner wants to ban Trumpsters. He and that Christian Cake Maker need to have a serious conversation.

One of the things I find amazing is the politicians who have been in politics for decades are advocating for change. Why did they wait so long, and so many unnecessary deaths before deciding change is needed? Why do people keep re-electing those very politicians who are over the cities where all the violence is happening............ not just the protests and riots of today, but the constant killing of people, every weekend, like in Chicago? It's just a rhetorical question because there is no logical answer. Glad you had a good time and made it to your meeting. I don't think many governors are going to be able to enforce their social distancing policies after allowing the protests like they did. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

I don't think the governors can do anything to stop the protests. Fortunately, the WV protests have been peaceful. This says a lot for West Virginia. I am going to suggest that our Republican Club hold a candlelight vigil to honor Retired Black Officer David Dorn who was killed by looters and all the other innocent black people that have been killed or hurt by the criminal actions of the looters.

So and so said something and ... "Dang! Tell me that I can't do something. Consider it done". That's funny, but I'm not buying it. I read your blogs. You're supporting the cops because you want to support the cops. It's your Constitutional right … no excuses are needed. Why make excuses?
