How to tick off those politically RIGHT family Genealogists

Genealogy is what I do. I do it for family, friends. the DAR and the local Historical Society. I just LOVE digging up those skeletons and that knock some folks out of their comfort zone.

I created paternal trees for my two biological sons and my step-. So....I recently received a message that I should REMOVE the paternal tree for my oldest because his father and I never married. His Father didn't want to deal with it apparently some of the member of that family don't want to deal with it either.

So I told the lady, the tree stays. Genealogy is about facts regardless of comfort zones. I am not going to shush my older 's paternity anymore than I would hide the fact that my younger has black ancestry. I was certainly not happy to find out that my maternal ancestors were slave owners but we can't whitewash history not even family history

Your letting facts get in the way of a good cover up. You'll be labelled a 'factist' lol

Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.

Heritage is what it is, with or without that wedding ring. If your son wants to know his paternal history, then he should be able to know it...... even with some stuck ups in it. Hope they don't taint his tree!!!! lol

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
