West Virginia Becomes the 29th State to Allow Medical Marijuana Use

Yesterday West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice signed a bill that makes his state the 29th to allow medical use of marijuana. West Virginia is the sixth state to legalize medical marijuana in the last year and the third (along with Ohio and Pennsylvania) to do so through the legislature. In the other three states—Arkansas, Florida, and North Dakota—voters approved ballot initiatives authorizing medical marijuana last November.

Ironically, West Virginia is an ideal place to grow marijuana with it's thick forest, mountains, hard to find places and the law willing to look the other way for a price. - in fact there are quite a few not quite legal marijuana farms operating in West Virginia.

So why not make it legal and capitalize on it.

I am a long time 12 Stepper and have no intentions of smoking marijuana - legal or otherwise but I do have a friend with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) who can now find relief LEGALLY.

Personally, I am opposed to Drug Laws - they provide financial security for lawyers and jailers while doing nothing to help the addict. Just my not so humble opinion.
