The Skeletons in his Closet!!!!

I have a gentleman friend that I meet occasionally for a Theater Date. It used to be that I would do my date's Astrological. Now, I research his family history and tell him all of their secrets . . . . .

We have frequent telephone conversation when we are not at the Theater.

Bennie C comes from an old prominent family in Greenbrier County, West Virginia.

Well, Darlin - It looks like your Great Grandfather was a Prisoner of War during the War of t he Northern Aggression as some of the local folks call it

It BETTER be on the Confederate side, he tells me!

I could have told him that his great granddaddy was a Yankee but wouldn't have been true. It was fortunate for your Great Granddaddy that the Yankee held him prisoner. Union soldiers were not treated well in Confederate POW camps.

Either way getting caught is no fun , he tells me!

Next I find out that his 4th Great Grandfather was an overseer and killed by a slave Your 3rd Great Grandmother and her sister were dentured into servitude Colonial Day Foster Care System .

Poor Bennie Crookshanks is Shocked

So his 3rd Great Grandmother Mary Cloverfield is a servant for an Army Captain. John Crookshanks is a Revolutionary War soldier in his unit. John marries Mary and after the war, Mary's sister Anne marries another Soldier and together they relocate to Greenbrier County, Virginia which was the beginning of the Crookshanks clan in this community.

He could be a of the American Revolution SAR Member! I've noticed that most DAR's with Virginia Patriots always have biggest ribbons.
