Deeper Conversations

”Lovely days don’t come to you; you should walk to them. You’ll find them waiting in the simple joys of a morning cup of coffee, in the laughter of a friend, or in the beauty of a sunset. It’s about noticing the small moments that make life wonderful and actively seeking out the things that bring you joy. So, put on your walking shoes and step out into the world, ready to embrace each day with open arms. Because in the end, it’s often the journey to find the lovely days that makes them all the more precious.”

Rumi

This a beautiful way of thinking, and so true. In fact, today is a good example of that for me.
I got up and just let the day happen, even though I had some errands that needed run and chores that needed done. There were some things laying heavy on my heart, and I just didn't feel good. As the day progressed, I felt even worse and it was turning into a rather nasty experience. So I finally just sat down, turned on my Christian music, and began to talk to the Lord, and felt bad that had not been my first thoughts.
Now, I am calmer, feel a little better and feel inclined to just do some of those simple things. I'm going to take a shower, put on a warm robe and make myself a cup of hot chocolate and read. It's raining, so it will have to be inside this time, but some days, pure happiness is sitting on my patio, listening to the birds and the sounds of farming and just being.
I have to learn to do more of that.
Thanks for an interesting and encouraging blog.

I think your reply was beautiful. Sometimes we just need to let the day take us where it wants to go. The chores will still be there waiting when we come back. And you know what? Taking time to be with God and to feel and hear and touch the beauty of nature and find our way back to who we really are is sometimes just what the doctor ordered. Take the time to sink into your bliss and be still. Breathe in and let the negative feelings and thoughts drift away. Tomorrow is another day and you owe it to yourself to love and care for yourself today.

Indigo a beautiful picture of a little girl and a lovely read. Today was a lovely day for me. Spring seems to have sprung and lots of cherry trees in bloom. It gave me joy and lightness. Thanks for the post.

HOW VERY TRUE. IT IS OFTEN THE SMALL JOYS OF LIFE THAT MAKE IT ALL WORTHWHILE.

I am overjoyed to hear that spring has finally arrived where you are. I can just imagine those cherry trees. I’ve seen pictures of them in bloom but never actually seen them in real time.

When I read this passage by Rumi I felt just as you did. Joy and lightness. That’s why I had to share the feeling.

I find that’s true. For me I take pleasure in a beautiful sunshiny day (especially if it’s a Saturday), warm summer afternoons, watching my hockey team play while enjoying my favorite take out, reading a good book or watching a scary movie … and sometimes just basking in my own company or the delightful anticipation of an afternoon nap after a busy morning.

Lovely picture and read. Sometimes all it takes to lift the heart is a blue sky and pretty flowers in bloom.

Thank you for the uplifting post.

I agree whole heartedly. Take today for instance, it’s going to feel like summer where I live and the skies will be blue and the Alberta sunshine will be abundant. Nothing better in all the world than that. Uplifting and life affirming.

Love and light Maudie.
