You packed photography equipment like I packed clothes. We always came home with a lot of unworn things, but at least I had things with us, in case we wanted to wear them.
This brought back a memory of our friend, Yellowduck. He loved his cowboy hats and always traveled with a few of them. On a trip to Australia, he didn't know what to do about that while traveling on the plane, so he picked three or four, and just wore them stacked up on his head. I'm sure he got plenty of strange looks from those who noticed.

That's way too much gear to carry around on holiday. No wonder you were exhausted.

I always pack too many clothes also. I don't know how to travel light. I can't see me changing a habit of a lifetime

Me either, Maudie. Actually, I don't see me doing much traveling any more, except to visit my daughters who live about 4 hours away from me... one in one direction and the other the opposite.
Joe always counted out how many days we would be gone, and pack one outfit per day plus one. Me? I packed heavier because I never knew what I would want to wear. If we were going to be gone very long, I would plan on doing laundry, but I really did not like to do that.
Oh, and the shoes, and the medicines, and toiletries..... and, and, and. LOL.
Yellowduck and Linda also packed like I did. We tried to get adjoining rooms, and would laugh at all the stuff in our rooms! Those were fun days and good memories.

Koffla, you might laugh, but there were times I would start to pack for a trip and find a suitcase of clean clothes that I hadn't even unpacked from the last trip.
In the early years of our marriage, we traveled twice a year to visit family on the east coast. Then we added in a couple trips to Nashville for seeing SFF friends and friends from another internet group that we knew. Our agenda just kept growing. The last few years of our traveling, before Joe broke his leg and Duck passed away, we took a trip every couple months.
One of my smart aleck kids asked me why we bothered to unpack! LOL. I told him that we had to have clothes to wear when we were home.

Ha ha....yeah that is me too....packing too many clothes. When I went to AZ at Christmas I tried to keep it down so I pretty much wore everything I took. The only thing I wished I had packed more warmer clothes. I shouldn't have listened to my sister saying the temps would be in the 70's. That wasn't the case at all. I got by and the only day I was really cold when we went to Sedona. I didn't do any laundry there and ended up with a suitcase of dirty clothes when I got home. I didn't want to spend time doing laundry while I was in AZ.

Kofla I didn't know you had lived in Phoenix many years ago. Weather can be unpredictable just like here where I live. We had some pretty mild weather in December and right up to Christmas. Of course there are the diehards who run around in the winter time in sandals and shorts.
